Mission Statement
The mission of the Petland Pets for Life Foundation is to provide effective means to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and reduce the numbers of stray, injured, abandoned, abused, and neglected companion animals.
Vision Statement
Communities in which all companion animals are kindly and humanely treated by responsible owners and guardians.
Our Work
Our focus is primarily in rural southern Alberta, where there is a tremendous need for an organization of our type. Many of our animals are rescued from this area, where they have been living in dumps, or wandering along the highway. Often, they are found terrified and starving.
Once entering the Foundation, they are taken to our farm foster home in Pincher Creek and cared for until they are ready to be adopted through one of our adoption centers at Petland locations in Calgary (excluding Market Mall) and Red Deer. In the event that an animal is unadoptable, it becomes a permanent resident of the farm.
To date, over 8000 abandoned pets have been taken from near death and placed into loving homes. This program continues, and approximately 150 animals are rescued every month.
